About the Event

On Saturday 24 October, join Hunter Writers’ Centre & Lighthouse Arts for a special anniversary celebration bringing together local artists, musicians, community members and supporters for a day packed with live entertainment, creative workshops, live art, raffles and a classic Australian sausage sizzle.

The celebrations kick off at 10am with speeches and acknowledgements from local electorate members, Tim Crakanthorp, Gavin Morris and Lighthouse Arts Director Katherine McLean, reflecting on five years of creativity, connection and community at Lighthouse Arts.

From 11 am — 3 pm, enjoy live music, creative workshops and live art, with local musicians including Craig Smith and Jordan Hunt.

Get hands-on with our creative workshops, including a Lantern Workshop with Ella Saul and a Paint Chip Collage Workshop with Leslie Duffin, with more workshops to be announced.

Throughout the day, experience live portraiture with Elloise Ansel from 11am–2pm, as well as live canvas painting with artist Ella Saul, with artwork being raffled throughout the day.

There will be an all-day sausage sizzle, raffles and fundraising activities supporting the ongoing work of Lighthouse Arts.
Whether you’ve been part of the Lighthouse Arts story from the beginning or you’re discovering us for the first time, we’d love you to help us celebrate five years of art, creativity, connection and community.

Come along, support local artists, make something, enjoy the music, grab a sausage and help us raise funds for the next chapter of Lighthouse Arts!
