From Character Development to Plot with Pamela Freeman

Saturday, 13th June

10am-3pm

So often, we get an idea for a story which centres on a character or characters in a particular situation.

Great! But how do you get from that initial idea to a fully formed plot?

This one-day workshop with award-winning writer Pamela Freeman will take you through the process of defining your characters in such a way that the plot will emerge organically from who they are and how they interact.

The workshop will cover:

  •  Developing characters with story in mind
  • Creating a cast of characters which will spur plot development
  • Using character relationships and conflicts to plan story arcs
  • Finding your climax and resolution through character growth and change.

If you’ve ever wondered what ‘the character’s journey’ really means, and how you can use it to create enthralling stories, this is the place to find out!

You will have an opportunity to either develop new characters and a new story, or to bring your current work in progress and develop your characters and story further.
