This course is about building practical skills. The focus will be on, but not limited to, honing style, rhythm, lyricism and the poetics of prose, avoiding cliche’s and purple prose, exploring P.O.V. with a focus on first person writing, some insights from folktale structure and classical rhetoric, and tips for revising your work.
Tutor – Dr (Bill) William Pascoe
Dr William (Bill) Pascoe is a Digital Humanities specialist with the Centre For 21st Century Humanities and the Centre for Literary and Linguistic Computing at the University of Newcastle. His education is in English, creative writing, semiotics and philosophy and his work is in eResearch focusing on web and software development projects with experience across finance, water engineering, science, health and humanities
