About the Opportunity

The Immersive Storytelling Masterclass at MAP mima is a specialised program delivered in collaboration with Hunter Writers’ Centre, designed for writers, artists, and creative practitioners who want to expand their practice into immersive media.

About MAP mima

MAP mima is a high-tech creative canvas, gallery and performance space. With a capacity for immersive soundscapes and captivating light displays, the walls of the gallery space can also be opened up to transform the space and bring the outdoors in. MAP mima offers curated programming including exhibitions, installations, screenings and performances, and is also available for hire and will add a contemporary and creative feel to any occasion.

Accessibility

MAP mima is a public art space, and as such is accessible to all. It is a single-level building with ramp and path access. There are accessible car parks, ample space for drop offs and accessible toilet amenities. Most of the external artworks can be viewed from the pathway but are predominantly situated in a grassed area.

Getting There

The Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima (MAP mima) is located in Speers Point Park, on the edge of Lake Macquarie. It can be reached from the lake foreshore cycleway, the water, or by public transport. There is parking in the Creek Reserve Road carpark. Parking is also available at the Park Road carpark at the eastern end of Speers Point Park.
